Human Gaze as an Alignment Signal for LLMs and VLLMs
Aligning language models with human intent is limited by the quality and cost of the feedback signals we can collect. This talk presents GazeReward, which injects synthetic gaze features into the reward model and improves preference-prediction accuracy by over 10%, and GazeSteer, which uses question-conditioned human saliency to steer VLLM attention and cut object hallucinations by more than half. Together, they show how eye-tracking data can help decide what a model should prefer and where it should look.

Towards an AI Software Factory for Data Systems
AI-assisted coding accelerates coding itself, but has limited impact across the end-to-end software development lifecycle. This talk presents progress towards an AI Software Factory for Data Systems spanning targeting, coding, reviewing, and operations. It covers scaled deployments across tens of Microsoft repositories, delivering three-times engineering efficiency beyond agentic coding and up to twenty-two-times token efficiency, along with the open challenges ahead.
